I actually just met a new buddy, Jazz, and it hit me, I don't think I ever documented, or wrote about my experience with the beautiful world of strawberries!!
I spent ~20 hours with R&D
…and had tons of fun with Strawberries last year, and had some great success. I actually didn't think about it until right now BUT EVERYTHING WENT REALLY REALLY GOOD. The whole goal was to start a berry patch that will probably give me strawberries for the rest of my life.
Where's the guide? Send me an email! I'll get you the guide. 😏
I think my fondness for strawberries comes from an earlier experience, some years ago, when I went looking for very fine blueberry bushes right from the blueberry capital of the world, out at the farm. I skipped the usual store-bought fare and drove forty minutes with a friend for what turned out to be a most enjoyable outing.
What's the Process?
I spent under $155 for a little over 150 strawberry plants, and I gifted away TONS for free, and sold TONS and easily made all my money back AND more importantly, I was able to start a strawberry patch because that's what I really wanted to do. I wanted a free strawberry patch that would continue to give me berries for as long as I lived.
Well, this was one of my better money-makers from last season. I handed them out to plenty of new friends and family, and the good effects rippled through just fine. But, I followed up months later, and hardly a soul had given them the care they needed.

Now, how did I track down the finest deals on the healthiest bare-root strawberries? I started with eBay, then checked Google Shopping. From one eBay seller, I went straight to their website for a follow-up order. Promotional listings popped up easily when sorting low to high, showing exactly what I needed. In the end, I bought from three different vendors.
- eBay Listing – Family Elbow
- eBay Seller Direct Website
- Stark Bro's Deals – Stark Bro's – definitely not as healthy as FamilyElbow but the DEAL WAS CRAZY
Well now, I even telephoned that farmer with some questions of my own. He couldn't have been more helpful about it. Stark Bros had those fine one-year bare root bushes, some two-year-olds as well, and a splendid selection of varieties, all packed with real value. $10 for 50 plants is incredible.
